Customer Case Study

High-Airflow 3D Mesh Pillow Solution

Theraline, a German baby home textile brand, was not satisfied with latex and foam pillows. Their concern was real: CO₂ buildup around a newborn’s head could increase overheating and SIDS risk, so they wanted to explore a completely different direction—using only mesh materials.

Our Solution

Step 1

Shift to Full Mesh Concept

Instead of improving foam or latex, we supported their idea of using a fully mesh-based structure. This allowed air to pass through the pillow more freely, reducing CO₂ accumulation and heat buildup around the newborn’s head.

Step 2

Soft Surface Selection

For the pillow surface, we recommended T2D-1L 3D mesh fabric with around 5mm thickness. Its DTY yarn surface is softer and fluffier, and the smaller mesh holes make it suitable for direct skin contact.

Step 3

High-Airflow Core Design

For the pillow core and back, we recommended T2S-2E 3D mesh fabric with around 10mm thickness. Its soybean-size through holes allow air, heat, and moisture to pass through easily without being trapped.

Step 4

Balanced Performance Structure

By combining these two structures, the pillow achieved both comfort and function—soft touch on the surface, strong airflow inside, and stable rebound support without using traditional filling materials.

Outcome

Results

The final pillow delivered long-lasting rebound, much better breathability than latex, and fast washable, quick-drying performance, helping create a safer and more comfortable newborn sleep solution.
