At the 2015 ISPA show, Lullaby Earth came to our booth with a clear goal: create a safer baby mattress surface. They needed large airflow holes, skin-friendly touch, no odor, and no dyeing—while still meeting strict standards for breathability, washability, and low allergen risk.

Our Solution

Step 1

Custom Mesh Structure Design


We developed BD2-7C spacer mesh with a large-hole and small-hole combined pattern, 3.5mm thickness, and 280gsm weight. The large holes improved airflow, while the smaller holes made the surface more balanced, helping achieve both breathability and a more comfortable skin contact.


Step 2

Undyed Greige White Fabric


To meet their requirement of no dyeing, we produced the fabric in greige white. This reduced chemical exposure and made the material more suitable for baby mattress applications where low allergen risk and safety are critical.


Step 3

Odor Reduction Process


Spacer mesh fabric can sometimes have a noticeable smell. For this project, we added an extra washing process to reduce odor, making the fabric cleaner and more acceptable for close-contact baby use.


Step 4

Mefiss Hometex Finished Covers


Beyond fabric development, we used Mefiss Hometex to produce finished mattress covers. This ensured the custom fabric could be directly applied into stable finished products without additional conversion risk.


Outcome

Results

In 2017, we upgraded the fabric to BD2-7N1 with 7mm thickness, improving support and airflow, and helping Lullaby Earth strengthen product performance in the baby mattress market.
